The "I can't" mentality

When you grow up (or spend a long period of time) as an overweight or obese person, the "I can't" mentality tends to prevail in your world and you see yourself through eyes of "impairment". You think that you can't lose weight, you can't change your diet, you can't do a pull-up, you can't do a push up, you can't run (remember I was never an athlete, I was never a runner, in fact I had convinced myself that I physically could NOT run. Now, I LOVE to RUN!!), you will never be able to run a marathon; everything is too hard, you can't keep up in ZUMBA, you can't jump highyou can't, you can't, you can't. You see everything as being "too hard" and continually doubt and limit yourself.

BUT!!!! The truth of the matter is: YOU CAN. YOU CAN. YOU CAN. YOU CAN!!! No matter how hard it looks or where you start at today, YOU CAN. I am here to tell you that YOU CAN DO ANYTHING. I am living proof! You can change your body and transform your lifestyle. It is NOT too hard and it will HAPPEN for you.

Work hard and CONTINUE to work hard, no matter what. Don't get discouraged when you don't see changes immediately. In consistency lies the power. Your body didn't get in it's current condition overnight, so you will not reach your goals overnight, but you WILL get there if you remain consistent.Change your perception of what you see in the mirror and let your progress propel you forward. Celebrate how far you have come, acknowledge your accomplishments and KEEP GOING! Never give up. When you hit a milestone, don't celebrate with a cheat meal or food, but with continued commitment and assurance that you are closer and closer to your goal.

Now is the perfect time to decide what you really want from 2014. What do you want to look like? How do you want to feel? What health improvements do you want to make? What are you goals? What changes in your daily life do you need to make in order to reach them? In order to have something that you have never had, you must do something that you have never done. So, if that means that you have to make an extreme change, make it. It's worth it. From personal experience, I am telling you, it is worth it .

You are in charge of your own destiny and with hard work, commitment and resiliency, you will (yes, you WILL) reach your goal. This is your year! Decide, commit, work hard and watch yourself SUCCEED. I would love to hear your goals, celebrate your progress and support you in any way that I can, in attaining those goals.
